When your thoughts won't settle, it gives you a quiet place to set them down — a short guided moment, a calming voice, and a soundscape to drift off to. It's a wellness tool, not a medical device, made for the hours when sleep feels just out of reach.

When something is keeping you awake, you write it down — one thought. Tonight gently reflects it back, helps you set it aside for the night, and guides you toward rest with a calm voice and a soundscape. Nothing is graded or diagnosed; it's simply a place to put the thought down so you don't have to keep holding it.

You can start your first ritual right away on your device — no sign-up required. Creating an account, with Apple, Google, or email, lets your rituals and preferences follow you and keeps your membership in sync across devices. We ask for as little as possible.

Tonight is available for iPhone and Android phones. The app currently speaks English, German, and French, with more languages on the way. This website is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese.

You can begin at no cost — every account includes a complimentary nightly ritual to use whenever you need it. If Tonight becomes part of your evenings, membership opens the full library of rituals, voices, and soundscapes: €119 per year, with the first 7 nights free, or €14.99 per month. There's no pressure to move up; the complimentary ritual is always there.

New subscribers on the annual plan get the first 7 nights free. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then in your App Store or Google Play settings — if you cancel during the trial, you won't be billed. The monthly plan doesn't include a trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when the trial ends.

Memberships are billed through the App Store or Google Play, so you cancel them there rather than inside Tonight. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Tonight → Cancel. On Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Tonight → Cancel. You'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Because all billing runs through Apple or Google, refunds are handled by them, not by us. On iPhone, use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, request a refund from the Play Store order history. Their refund policies apply. If you're stuck, write to us and we'll help point you in the right direction.

Yes. Sign in with the same Apple, Google, or email account and your membership follows you. On iPhone you can also use Restore Purchases from the paywall if a new device doesn't pick it up automatically.

What you write at night is yours. Your reflection is used only to shape that night's ritual — never sold, and never used to build an advertising profile of you. You can read exactly how we handle data in our Privacy Policy.

By default, nothing you write is kept overnight: your one thought is encrypted and deleted at the next sunrise in your timezone. If you turn on Keep My Nights (off unless you choose it), that night stays replayable and your encrypted words are kept for 45 nights so you can look back — and you can delete any of it at any time.

No. Neither your reflections nor anything derived from them is used to train AI models, and none of it is sold. Your text is processed to compose that night's ritual and nothing more.

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all its data, and it works the same for anonymous, device-only accounts. If you no longer have the app, you can request deletion from our account-deletion page (linked in the footer) or by emailing support@tonightforyou.com.

We use anonymous, pseudonymous product analytics to see which screens and features help — never the content of what you write, and never your name or email. In the app it's on by default and one tap turns it off in Settings → Privacy & Data; on the website it only runs with your cookie consent.

First, check the obvious: turn the volume up, take the phone off silent (the side switch on iPhone), and make sure it isn't routed to a Bluetooth speaker or earbuds you're not wearing. If you're on a very low-power mode, audio can be held back — turning it off usually helps. Closing and reopening the app clears most one-off glitches.

Tonight is built to keep playing with the screen off. If it stops, make sure the app is allowed to play in the background and isn't being force-closed by a battery saver. On Android, exclude Tonight from battery optimization; on iPhone, keep Background App Refresh on. Reopening the app and starting the ritual again restores playback.

Creating a new ritual needs a connection, because the voice and session are composed for that night. Once a ritual has loaded it will keep playing, but for the most reliable night we recommend being online when you begin.

This is almost always a connection hiccup while the night is being composed. Check your signal or Wi-Fi and try again — most rituals are ready in a few seconds. If it keeps failing, close and reopen the app; if it still won't load, write to us with your device and it'll get a real look.

The Whisperers are the voices that guide your ritual — each one carefully curated and tuned for calm. They're synthetic AI voices, now available in six languages, chosen so the voice that reads your night feels steady and warm.

You can choose your Whisperer in the app before a ritual, and switch any time — pick the voice that settles you best. The voice speaks the app's language, so changing the app language changes the voice accordingly.

No. Every Whisperer is a synthetic, curated AI voice — no actor hears what you write. We disclose this everywhere, in the app and here, both because the EU AI Act requires it and because we'd tell you anyway.
