When your mind
won’t switch off.
Tonight is a digital sleep ritual designed to help you decompress at the end of the day. A gentle, non-judgmental companion for the hours when you can’t put the day down.
Good evening, Mara
The night is yours.
What are you carrying tonight?
A thought, a word, a feeling…
Begin RitualThe restless night.
It is a specific kind of lonely to be awake while the world sleeps. Three a.m., the house is silent, but your thoughts are deafening. Standard sleep apps just tell you to meditate; trackers grade your supposed failure the next morning.
But in the middle of the night you don’t need a report card or a complex breathing exercise. You need a structured, non-judgmental place to unload the noise.
Why writing it down actually works.
The Zeigarnik Effect describes a simple phenomenon: the brain clings to unfinished business. It is the exact reason tomorrow’s to-do list loops endlessly in your head at midnight.
When you write those thoughts out of your head, you signal your nervous system that they are safely stored. It isn’t journaling. It is a neurological off-switch.
A simple framework for letting go.
Under five minutes. A gentle handover from the day to the night. Each night, your single line is woven into a personal session — new every time.
Put the day down
What’s still with you?
I keep replaying that conversation.
Set it downThe handover meeting kept looping in my head.
Worried I'm forgetting something for the move.
Couldn't stop planning tomorrow before I'd even slept.
A relationship, not a library.
Other apps hand you a catalog of ten thousand sessions — and with it a choice problem at midnight. Tonight does it differently.
Woven for you
No endless scrolling through grids. Every night, Tonight weaves you a single, personal, one-time session — from exactly what you’re carrying this evening.
A memory
It gets to know you. What you set down becomes an encrypted emotional memory. The app on night 300 knows you deeply — not like on the first evening.
No score
No sleep grades, no dashboard scoring your failure in the morning. Tonight never judges you. It is simply there to keep you company.
Real privacy
What happens in the 3 a.m. room stays there. Tonight holds your words for the night only, then lets them go. Nothing is sold, nothing is used for training.
Voices in the dark.
Anxiety peaks when the rest of the world is unreachable. Our Whisperers are carefully curated characters who acknowledge your day and respond with empathy — right when friends are asleep and the office is closed.

soft, careful, present„I am here. You don't have to carry it all by yourself tonight.“

james
steady, grounded, sure„Let's notice what's there. We don't have to solve anything right now.“

mortimer
steady, plain, unhurried„Lass uns wahrnehmen, was da ist. Wir müssen jetzt nichts lösen.“
A ritual shaped to the night you’re having.
The Racing Mind
When thoughts won’t stop circling. A long breathing rhythm, a voice that names what is loud, and a slow drift into nothing.
The 3 a.m. Wake-up
Suddenly awake, the house silent. Grounding first, then breath. A quiet return to the room, without panic about the day ahead.
Sunday-Night Dread
When tomorrow already looms in the room. A structured handover for the parts of the week you’re allowed to leave outside.
The Lonely Hours
When the quiet grows heavy. A warm companion that simply sits with you and asks absolutely nothing of you.
After a Hard Conversation
When something didn’t end well. A line about the words still echoing, and permission to set them down for the night.
Doomscrolling
When the feed won’t let you go. A gentle off-ramp out of the blue light, so you can finally put the phone down.
Wake up without the heavy weight of yesterday’s mental leftovers.
Less time spent rehearsing the past. A softer first thought.
The day picked up, not braced for.
Things people ask.
What exactly is Tonight?
A digital sleep ritual that helps you clear your head before falling asleep. A wellness tool built on cognitive off-loading — not a medical device, not therapy. It uses proven techniques to quiet circling thoughts.
Who are the Whisperers?
Carefully curated, empathetic AI voices. They are designed to be a calming, non-judgmental presence in the middle of the night. They respond to what you write without ever sounding robotic.
Can I use Tonight as therapy?
No. Tonight is a wellness tool, not a substitute for professional therapy or medical advice. It is, however, ideal as a companion between sessions for emotional regulation.
Is there a free version?
Downloading the app is completely free. A small subscription keeps your room ad-free, protects your privacy, and keeps the Whisperers running.
Will my data be kept or sold?
Never sold. By default we only hold what you write for the night, then let it go — what happens in the 3 a.m. room stays there. If you'd like to look back, you can turn on Keep My Nights and delete it again whenever you choose. Your thoughts are never trained on or sold.
Words for the night.
